Mompreneur. It’s a funny sounding word but it is exactly what it means. Moms who are entrepreneurs- they are founding mom-, family-, and kid-centric product and service based businesses. We first stumbled upon this “new” word during the early stages of Bourgeois Baby’s development. You may be familiar with the word via TV or the internet. Some have even touted their wares on the ABC TV show The Sharks (did you see the Lollacup? Mompreneur Hanna Lim is an inspiration to other mompreneurs- a great product and it’s made in the USA!).It’s actually not that hard to find mom-owned and operated businesses. A simple Google search will turn up both local businesses and online shops offering all sorts of great products and services. Bourgeois Baby is one of these mom owned and operated online shops (we offer the best baby and toddler bibs you can find!), but we wanted to share with you a few other awesome mompreneurs near us!
A Delicate Gift LLC is owned and operated by Trixy Gardner. She decided to open her business after having her son Mason, who is now 13 months old. However, several years before making this career shift, Trixy had been helping many friends and family by designing just the perfect event accessories. Now she offers all sorts of beautiful goodies, like personalized invitations, stationary, event planning, and other party planning needs. A Delicate Gift LLC also carries some very modern nursery decor. Make sure to check out her website or her Facebook page to see her gorgeous designs. You’ve probably noticed in the sidebar the button for Jessica Torosian Photography, as well as many of the pictures of our mascots are by Jessica Torosian Photography. Jessica is Brayden’s mom and will be joined by another little one next year! She decided to take her skills in photography to a whole new level by starting up JTP earlier this year. She specializes in families and children, but what we love the best? Her ability to capture the natural aspect that traditional portrait photography misses! JTP doesn’t have a studio on purpose…she brings everything to you- where ever you want to capture unique and beautiful photos!
